FAQs mg reporting

What is interactive realtime?

Interactive realtime allows the court reporter to connect their computer system either wirelessly or with a realtime cable to the attorney's computer so that the attorney can view the testimony on their computer screen through a realtime viewing software as the proceedings are in progress.

What is realtime viewing software?

Realtime viewing software is software that allows the attorney to view the proceedings on their computer as the court reporter captures the proceedings/testimony.  This software can be installed on the attorney's computer via the Internet (see Services page for link to download Bridge at no cost).

Does the attorney need any special hardware to view the realtime text?

Yes. The attorney will need a computer with a serial port to allow the court reporter to connect the realtime cable to the receiving computer.  This can also be accomplished with a USB-to-serial adapter.  Once the USB-to-serial adapter is plugged into the USB port on the receiving computer, the necessary driver is automatically installed on the receiving computer.

We can also provide a loaner computer with the realtime viewing software preinstalled and USB-to-serial adapter and set it up for you.

What is a rough draft transcript?

A rough draft is an unedited, uncertified transcript of the proceedings that can be provided via email before the final transcript is completed.  Rough drafts can be provided in PDF format, which include a full-sized transcript, condensed transcript, and word index.

What is a PDF Bundle?

A PDF Bundle "bundles" a full-sized transcript with a word index (PDF), a condensed transcript with a word index (PDF), an ASCII (.txt) electronic file, and includes all the scanned exhibits marked in the proceedings.  All the transcript files can be searched electronically, exported individually, emailed, and printed.  No special viewing software is required.  A screenview PDF file is also included which can be viewed on iPads.

For telephonic depositions, how can we mark exhibits?

Email the exhibits in PDF format to the office  (mgoffice@mgreporting.com) prior to the deposition, and the court reporter will have the exhibits and mark them at your request during the proceedings.

Please feel free to email me any questions.

               Testimonial from an Esteemed Colleague:

" I myself was a court reporter for 18 years, and then I subsequently started proofreading transcripts for court reporters.  I was Lorena's proofreader for 10-plus years.  I considered Lorena one of the ELITE court reporters in the whole Phoenix metropolitan area.  Lorena possesses many high-end qualities that make her stand out as a court reporter that is capable of handling any court reporting assignment.  She is very knowledgeable, a perfectionist, very conscientious about her work product, a hard worker, and very timely in the delivery of her transcripts.  She is also one of the best realtime writers you could ever have covering any type or size of litigation.  You will never have to question the quality of a transcript that comes across your desk that Lorena has produced.  I have the utmost respect for Lorena."
